The mission of the Capital Medical Society
is to promote the practice of medicine for the ultimate benefit
of the
patient.
The Capital Medical Society (CMS) is a local
professional organization, representing more than 525 physician
members
who live and work in Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson and Wakulla
Counties.
Capital Medical Society provides its physician
members with a strong voice and active representation in
local
and state
government, regulatory agencies and community activities.
CMS addresses political, social or economic issues concerning
the level and delivery of healthcare for patients and physicians
in our area.
An annually elected Board
of Governors governs
the non-profit CMS. Contact the Board of Governors through

offers a variety of services to both its members and to the
public.
CMS is affiliated with the
Florida Medical Association, the largest, most effective
organization representing the interests
of all Florida physicians and their patients. CMS is also
affiliated with the American Medical Association. Together
we are stronger.

We Care Dental Network Receives Award from The Blue Foundation
At a luncheon meeting in Orlando on December 4, 2009, The Blue Foundation awarded our We Care Dental Network an "Honorable Mention" award that carried with it a $25,000 cash award. This is a tremendous tribute to our local dentists who have taken their program and over the past year developed it into an award-winning program. This award recognizes the We Care Dental Network as among the state's best nonprofits addressing access to healthcare. Read more...
Record-Breaking Attendance at the CMS Foundation's Holiday Auction!
Despite tough economic times, we had record-breaking attendance and an impressive net profit at our annual Holiday Auction this year. The Capital City Country Club was filled, with 274 people in attendance. It was a festive event, complete with food, drinks, guest appearances, silent auction items and the always-unforgettable auctioneers for the live auction! This compares to 262 people last year.
